Scam Alert Notification - Phone Call Scam Targeting JBT Clients

Important Note: JBT never calls and asks for personal information such as account number, social security number, user name, password, last 8 digits of your debit card, security code, etc.

JBT has become aware of a number of vishing attempts (phishing via phone call) through scammers posing as a member of the “JBT fraud team”.  In each attempt, the scammers have been looking for access to digital banking profiles and have instructed the person receiving the call to link external accounts to “protect their assets”.

Similar to previous events, this type of scam is an industry-wide issue that can be cyclical based on the success rates of fraud at a certain institution. If you receive a vishing call, block the number and report it through your phone carrier if you are able to do so.  In addition, report the incident to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov.

If you’ve been the victim of this scam, please contact JBT’s Client Resource Center or visit your local branch immediately.
