Important Note: JBT never calls and asks for personal information such as account number, social security number, user name, password, last 8 digits of your debit card, security code, etc.
JBT has become aware of a number of vishing attempts (phishing via phone call) by scammers posing as JBT employees. Scammers are either asking for personal information or directing people to a fake website to click on a malicious link to steal personal or business information.
Similar to previous events, this type of scam is an industry-wide issue that can be cyclical based on the success rates of fraud at a certain institution. If you receive a vishing call, block the number and report it through your phone carrier if you are able to do so. In addition, report the incident to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at
ic3.gov.
